Dancin’ For Fun Classes compared to Performance Classes
Both classes receive the same high quality dance instruction that EMC is known for.

The performance classes learn dance technique plus choreography for the Holiday and Spring Performances. These are classes that require performance fees, costume fees and additional performance rehearsal times.

Dancin’ For Fun classes learn dance technique only, however, there are 2
in-house “Shows” for the Dancin’ For Fun students to display their new skills. These classes are for those students who are not interested in performing or who have other activities that conflict with the performance schedule.

Cost difference
Because the performance classes must have choreography developed for the two performances a year, the price per class is slightly higher.

Student Instructors
Both types of classes may have a teen instructor. Teen instructors at EMC are students who have excelled in their own technique classes, trained as a Dancing Assistant for several years and are now able to teach classes on their own. These teens are also continuing their own technique classes and working on their own dance skills.

The technique curriculum and choreography for all EMC dance classes are developed by the Dance Directors and taught to the teen instructors. The teen instructors are also observed on a regular basis on the TV monitors in the Parent’s Lounge as well as in the actual class.
