Ciara Miller
Ciara
has been a part of the EMC staff since the inception of the PA studio 4 years ago. She is widely known throughout the Southern York County and Hanover areas for her work in their theaters and schools both in dance education and musical theater training. She graduated from The William Penn Performing Arts Institute in York, PA and continued her education in New York City at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, as well as Broadway Dance Center. Ciara’s training includes ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, modern, bellydance, musical theatre, and competitive ballroom in Adagio Partnering.
Ashley Spears
Ashley is a graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts where her extensive ballet training has been in Vaganova, RAD, Cecchetti and Balanchine. She has studied the modern and jazz techniques of Graham, Cunningham, Horton, Fosse, Giordano, and Limone. After high school, Ashley moved to New York City to train as an apprentice to The Joffrey Ballet. In 2002, Ashley spent the summer at the Institute Nationale a Rouen in France studying both French language and culture as well as dance. Ashley is a graduate of Towson University with a major in English and a minor in French and is currently persuing further education towards physical therapy certification.
Caitlin Moler
Cait Moler recently received her BFA in Dance Performance and Education from Towson University in Baltimore MD and is eligible for Maryland State Certification for K-12 Education in Dance. She currently performs with the Collective and performed recently in VTDance's "the Mozart Project: On Lines, Between Spaces" by Vincent Thomas. As a student, she performed works by Vincent Thomas, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Nai Ni Chen, Dana Tai Soon Burgess, Doug Graham, Meisha Bosma, and Stephanie Powell. As a member of Cross Currents Dance Company in 2002-2003, Cait had the pleasure of working with Helen Hayes, Debra Kanter, Alvin Mayes, Daniel Burkenholder, and Cathy Paine. In 2002, she was the recipient of the University of Maryland at College Park's Creative and Performing Arts Scholarship for Dance. In 2005 she co-produced the Dance Majors' Performance Project at Towson University and acted as its Production Stage Manager the following year.
Deborah Engerman
Deb
has been teaching, coaching and choreographing ballet for over 15 years. She is currently the Ballet Mistress of Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys Of Dance and also teaches at numerous schools in the Baltimore/DC area. She was trained in classical ballet at Baltimore Ballet, Central PA Youth Ballet, Studio du Marais (Paris, France), and Towson University. Ms Engerman also received a Bachelor of Arts (1990) in International Policy Management Studies from Dickinson College. Dancers trained by Ms. Engerman have achieved high levels of recognition and accomplishment. Her student, Adrienne Canterna won the Junior Gold Medal at the USA IBC in 1998 and has gone on to dance with Universal Ballet, Washington Ballet, Complexions, and most recently is the Associate Artistic Director of the Bad Boys Of Dance. Other dancers coached by Ms. Engerman have entered and either won or reached high ranks at YAGP and The Prix de Lausanne. Ms Engerman has additionally trained students who have performed with ABT, Vienna Opera Ballet, Washington Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, and the national touring company of Cats. Her students have been accepted at the most competitive colleges and universities: Juilliard, University of the Arts, North Carolina School of Arts, Alvin Ailey School at Fordham University, and University of Arizona to name a few. Ms. Engerman has choreographed numerous short classical and contemporary ballets for a variety of schools and international competitions. She is also known for her vibrant staging of classical ballets, such as The Nutcracker and Swan Lake. Ms. Engerman currently resides in Baltimore, MD with her two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for friends and family, reading, and hiking.
Jessica Colosa
Jessica is originally from Long Island, New York and began dancing at the age of three. She is currently student teaching alongside Maria Rodgers at Sudbrook Magnet Middle School and Kimberly Whitney at North County High School. Jessica will graduate this Semester from Towson University with a BFA in Dance Performance and Education. Through her studies, Jessica has had the great privilege of working with profound choreographers such as; Juan Carlos Blanco, Carlos Danaan, Amy Marshall, and Stephanie Powell. She has been able to share her love of teaching to Park School of Baltimore, Pine Grove Middle School, and the Towson University Children’s Dance Division.
Stephanie Stanley
Stephanie
began her formal ballet training at age 13 under Joyce Morrison at Frederick School of Classical Ballet in Frederick, MD. With the school, she performed lead roles in ballets such as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Swan Lake, and had the opportunity to work with guest artists from New York City Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Miami City Ballet. She has attended summer programs at the Universal Ballet Academy in Washington, D.C. and Miami City Ballet School and has been awarded the Frederick Arts Council scholarship in both the junior and senior divisions. Currently, Stephanie attends Towson University as a Molecular Biology/Chemistry double major and is in the dance major’s program.
Elisabeth Hittie
Elisabeth
is a fun-loving, upbeat instructor who runs a disciplined class-room in which her students thrive. She has been dancing since the age of 2 and has thorough training in ballet, tap, jazz, modern/contemporary/lyrical, hip hop and musical theater. Elisabeth joined Experimental Movement Concepts in its first year and is an original member of the EMC Repertory Ensemble. She is also a member of the Susquehannah Youth Ballet. She is entering her fifth year of teaching and receives love, support, and wisdom from her teachers every step of the way.
Emiline Schroeder (age 16)
Miss Emiline is a dedicated and hard-working dancer whose accomplishments over the years have been many. She has a natural ability to share her love and knowledge of dance with her young students. She has been teaching at EMC for 1 year.
